1.) What does "IDA" stand for?

    It is an abbreviation for The Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Development Authority.

2.) What is the IDA supposed to do?

    To attract industrial and economic development to the area, providing good jobs while adding to the tax base.

3.) Is the IDA a public, or a private entity?

    Public.

4.) How many members does the IDA have?

    Eight members, with two additional Ex-Officio members.

5.) Are members elected by the public?

    NO.

6.) Can you name someone who is a member?

    Currently, the persons listed on the city web page as members are:

7.) Where do IDA meetings take place?

    In the Boardroom at the Barnesville Lamar county Chamber of Commerce, at 10:30am on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

8.) Are IDA meetings open to the public?

    Yes.

9.) Are IDA records required to be open to public inspection?

    Yes.

10.) Who chairs the IDA board?
